加拿大移民 人口增加
加拿大移民 統計局的一項新研究顯示，加拿大的人口在2020年前三個月，增長了76,000，其中82％的增長來自移民。目前，加拿大的人口不到3800萬人。
新冠疫情導致加拿大移民人口變化
由於COVID-19大流行，加拿大的第一季度人口增長是2015年以來最少的。新冠疫情的流行可能導致了人口增長緩慢，加拿大3月18日實施旅行限制，可能使返回加拿大的人數量減少，也降低了抵達加拿大的臨時居民數量。不過和去年相比，2020年的前3個月，加拿大移民數量仍然強勁，有近7萬移民獲得身份。2019年1季度是近6.6萬。
國際學生減少 影響加拿大移民
臨時居民比2019年同期減少了近80％，主要是因為來加拿大的國際留學生減少了！
加拿大統計局的研究預計，在2020年4月至2020年6月底之間，新冠疫情將對加拿大的永久居民，和臨時居民水平產生更大的影響。鑒於加拿大依賴移民來推動人口增長，可以預測較弱的人口增長將在統計局的下一個季度報告中出現。
盡管如此，加拿大移民部表示，2020-2022年移民水平計劃並未因新冠疫情而改變。
這表示一旦疫情結束，可以預計移民將會像疫情前一樣，在支持加拿大的人口、勞動力和經濟增長方面起相當重要的作用。
被限制入境美國的四類非移民工作簽證
美國政府6月22日發布總統公告，宣布自6月24日起至2020年12月31日，限制H-1B等四類非移民工作簽證持有者以及配偶入境。白宮認為，此舉將幫助因新冠肺炎疫情失業的美國公民優先找到工作。
被限制入境的四種非移民工作簽證分別是
H-1B（臨時工作簽證）
H-2B（季節性工作簽證）
J（訪問學者簽證）
L（企業高管簽證）
H-1B是美國最主要的工作簽證類別，授權允許外籍專業技術人員受雇在美國境內工作。
美國總統川普4月22日曾簽署行政令，除部分豁免情況外，美國暫停移民入境60天。該行政令的有效期也被延長至今年年底。
白宮一名高級官員在媒體會上稱，這兩項措施將為美國釋放52.5萬個工作崗位。
美國商業團體特別是一些科技企業，對這一政策持反對意見。他們認為，這將把高素質的技術人才拒之門外。
美國商會首席執行官托馬斯·多諾霍在一份聲明中說，對移民和非移民的限制性做法，將導致美國的投資和經濟活動向海外轉移，同時減緩經濟增長，減少就業機會。

最優先選擇的途徑是加拿大移民快速通道Express Entry
申請人可以在聯邦政府的網站上直接提交個人資料。
然後，聯邦政府根據年齡，教育程度，英語和/或法語技能，工作經驗等因素對他們進行評分。
聯邦政府每兩周（包括在COVID-19大流行期間）舉行“快速入境”抽簽，按照分數高低，分數達到邀請線後再遞交正式的移民申請。
提交永久居留申請後，成功的候選人可以期望在6個月內處理其申請。
第二個是省提名計劃（PNP）
幾乎每個省和地區都運營PNP，以迎合能夠滿足當地勞動力市場需求的熟練工人。候選人可以直接向感興趣的省份提交申請。他們還可以提交“快速入境”資料，使省份有機會審查其證書並就移民到其轄區直接與他們聯系。
第三個選擇是魁北克
它擁有類似聯邦政府和其他省份的多種移民計劃。
