Even short essays perform several different operations: introducing the argument, analyzing data, raising counterarguments, concluding. Introductions and conclusions have fixed places, but other parts don’t. Counterargument, for example, may appear within a paragraph, as a free-standing section, as part of the beginning, or before the ending. Background material (historical context or biographical information, a summary of relevant theory or criticism, the definition of a key term) often appears at the beginning of the essay, between the introduction and the first analytical section, but might also appear near the beginning of the specific section to which it’s relevant. It’s helpful to think of the different essay sections as answering a series of questions your reader might ask when encountering your thesis. (Readers should have questions. If they don’t, your thesis is most likely simply an observation of fact, not an arguable claim.) “What?” The first question to anticipate from a reader is “what”: What evidence shows that the phenomenon described by your thesis is true? To answer the question you must examine your evidence, thus demonstrating the truth of your claim. 為什麼選擇 GBC 的語校？ 我是來自台灣的Sandy 😀 會來 加拿大 念書是因為大學畢業之後，想要在專門的領域中精進自我，而且也想持續增強我的英語能力，所以就決定要在 George Brown College 唸 Fashion Management! 在台灣的時候就一直在做功課，想說到底要先考雅思嗎？還是先在 多倫多 唸 語言學校 ？ 語言學校 又要怎麼選？ 回想起來，當時還真的很迷惘，每天都鬼打牆的找資料跟問自己同樣的問題。 在網路上找資料的時候，接觸到了 加拿大ADM ，我抱著「反正問一下又不會少一塊肉」的心情私訊了他們，跟他們談我的問題，例如在多倫多要唸哪間語言學校？等等。Adrian很快地就回覆了我的訊息，他也幫我分析了我的情況，因為我就很明確的要唸 GBC 的Fashion Management，所以建議我到 GBC 的語言學校上課，畢業後就等於過了學校的入學語言門檻。 George Brown College 的 ESL 語言學校 課程是一到五每天都要去上課，一開始會先考試分級，一個級別要上8周的課，再進階到下一個級別。我進去的時候是在第7級，第8級結業之後，就獲得 GBC 要求的deploma入學英文標準了！ 我很喜歡這間語言學校，它的交通位置在 King Station 附近，可以走路到，也可以搭 504 streetcar。然後一樓有交誼廳（還有鋼琴！有時候可以看到有人在那邊彈鋼琴！）然後每層樓教室都超多的XD 我第一次去的時候有點迷路，但也很佩服只是語言學校就能有這麼多間教室！（在進來之前我都以為語言學校只是像學校補習班那樣XD） 圖書館內有討論室，可以在網路上預約，和同學要一起做小組作業的時候就很方便。此外，它離 GBC 的 st. 為什麼選擇 多倫多 TLG ？ 大家好，我是Wei ！ (Wei 的心得分享影片) 今天想和大家分享一下我在加拿大語言學校學英語的心得。我就讀的是 TLG 語言學校 ，這間學校除了加拿大之外在英國和德國都設有校區。 當初選擇它是因為它的地理其實真的很方便，位在多倫多的市區和優秀的師資。學校的所有老師都通過了Celta或Tesol的教師認證，以及語言教學的學位或文憑，我覺得如果有這樣的保證讓我在學習上更能放心地投入 ！要知道可不是每間學校都能擁有這樣的認證的。透過層層調研和篩選，我最終選擇了 TLG 多倫多校區，開始了我的加拿大之旅。 語言學校 怎麼上課？ TLG 的學習方式是採取小班制教學，一個班平均只有十三四人，為的是保障每個學生高品質的英語學習環境，使每一個人都有機會發表自己的想法，提升口語。 這當然也是我當初選擇這間學校的一個原因，因為小班的關係，我每次有問題想發問都會比較敢舉手發言 XDD。而且，這裡的華人比例很少，我的同學都是來自韓國、日本還有哥倫比亞、墨西哥人。也正因為如此，每次有想法都要嘗試用英文交流，剛開始的時候確實會有點緊張，也會出現不熟悉的話題溝通打結，但是這裡的人都非常友好，會仔細耐心地聽你講完，慢慢地我就有明顯感覺到自己英文的進步。 在課堂上，和台灣的語言機構教學方式不同，這裡的老師非常鼓勵和學生之間的互動，這和我之前老師教什麼就學什麼的經歷很不一樣。老師會組織很多趣味遊戲，小組合作，讓本來枯燥乏味的課程變得生動有趣。大家在不知不覺中就學到了很多語法知識，並且結下了深厚的友誼。到現在常常下課後我們都還會到彼此的家中一起下廚、聊天、交流！ TLG 多倫多校區地理位置非常方便，樓下就是College地鐵站，周圍的奶茶店、餐廳、銀行等設施一應俱全。著名的Dundas Square和Eaton Center走路幾分鐘就能到，我和同學下課後沒事就在周邊閑逛，更深度的認識多倫多這個城市。 鄰近 多倫多 景點！ 除了在 加拿大學英語 ，當然也要在當地走訪一下著名景點。 下面介紹我最印象深刻的兩個景點： 第一個當然就是多倫多的大地標—加拿大國家電視塔 CN Tower了！只要在多倫多市區的地理範圍，隨處都可以看到探出頭來的CN Tower, 在此之前，我曾在不同地方、不同角度拍過它的身影，或遠或近，都散發著不同的美感。 可是當真正站在三百米的高度上俯瞰多倫多，那種震撼的感覺真的是用語言無法形容的。如果喜歡刺激冒險的朋友，還可以去更高的一層體驗室外瞭望台，綁著繩索在CN Tower外面俯瞰整個城市，但我因為恐高沒有上去啦哈哈。據說到了晚上，還可以體驗坐在電視塔裡面的360°旋轉餐廳，一邊享用美食，一邊觀賞多倫多的夜景，想想就很愜意。我今年到CN Tower上應該已經有3次了吧！ 第二個是位於多倫多市區北邊的卡薩羅馬城堡。它是由加拿大富翁Sir Henry Mill Pellatt於20世紀初建造的仿中世紀城堡，融合了諾曼、歌德與羅馬風格。Casa Loma在西班牙文中寓意「山上的城堡」。我去的時候正zhi聖誕節，城堡里都換上了聖誕裝扮，在這裡你可以和聖誕老人拍照，去城堡地下室探秘，以及登上最高處俯瞰整個城堡，是來到多倫多必須打卡的景點之一無疑。 除此之外，TLG還會帶給你很多驚喜。這裡每逢節日，學校都會舉辦一些活動慶祝，包括大大小小的不同國家的特別節日，讓你在加拿大學英語之餘，還能體驗其他國家的文化。在這裡，你可以結交到來自世界各地的朋友，大家聚在多倫多，一起分享自己的不同人生經歷，收穫珍貴的友誼，相信這一定是一段難以忘記的回憶！ 我個人非常推薦大家可以來這間語言學校體驗加拿大生活！ 延伸閱讀： 不用雅思、托福也能上加拿大College！ 從0開始─ 全方位了解 加拿大打工遊學 加拿大打工遊學VS打工度假 （ 2020懶人包） 有關任何語言學校及留遊學的疑問，歡迎通過以下方式與我們聯繫~ hello welcome to admission hub He couldn’t sleep, therefore she sang a song.
