杜魯多政府在國會提出立法草案，對於違法欺詐CERB者計劃處以最高5,000元的罰款，甚至可能有最高6個月的監禁。但反對黨對這個草案立法都有意見，最終法案被擱置，恐怕還需要更多協商。
截至稅務局6月3日的數據，已有19萬個申請人退回了款項。
據本地英文媒體CBC News早前報導，加拿大目前已有超過700萬人申領了緊急救助金（ CERB ），約佔全國總人口的五分之一。
然而，其中有部分根本沒有資格的人，也冒領了這筆每月$2000加幣的福利。現在加拿大稅務局（CRA）正定期處理這些冒領福利的申請者。
根據加拿大政府早前的說法，所有有需要的人可以申領CERB，政府不會對“冒領”這筆緊急救助金進行罰款。
之後，加拿大稅務局會與收到過多金額、或是不滿足申領條件的個人聯絡，並給他們留有一定的時間進行還款，屆時他們只需歸還所收到的金額即可。
加拿大政府要求： 不符合資格的CERB需在年底退還
近日，加拿大政府在官網上更新了有關誤領、或冒領CERB緊急救助金應該如何退還的具體細節。
為什麼需要退還CERB?
為了讓大家更快拿到錢，CRA在派發福利金時沒有進行審查，所有人都可以花2分鐘左右的時間填寫申請，並在2個工作日內收到這筆錢。但由於冒領的現象確實存在，CRA需要確保所有領到救助金的個人都是滿足申領條件的。
什麼情況應該退還？
CERB緊急救助金每4周為一個申領週期，如果在這段時間內，下述任何一種情況發生，都被視為不滿足資格：
1. 比預期的日期提前收到了自雇或受僱收入
如果在一個申領週期（4周）內，重新被僱傭或是找到了新的工作，必須償還這一時間段的CERB。比如說，你申請了4月12日至5月9日這段時間的救助金，在申請時預計這四周的收入很少、甚至沒有。但與此同時，僱主在這段時間重新僱傭了你，並會為這4周補薪。這種情況下，需要償還4月12日至5月9日這4周的CERB。
2. 同時收到Service Canada和CRA的兩筆救助金
如果分別向Service Canada和CRA同時申請了兩次CERB，則需要把其中一筆錢退還。另外，比如你向Service Canada申請了EI，並在同一週期內向CRA申請了CERB，也屬於重複申請，需要將多出來的部分退還。
3. 首次申請和後續申請對收入要求不同
如果是在第一個週期首次提交申請，需要滿足：連續14天的收入稅前低於$1000加元，否則需要將本月的$2000福利金退還。
如果在隨後的週期內後續申請，需要滿足：整個月的收入稅前低於$1000加元
償還CERB的期限是多久？
如果在合適了上述條件後，發現自己有不滿足條件的情況，需要在2020年12月31日之前償還。
同時，加拿大政府還提到，這筆CERB需要報稅，CRA會給大家簽發T4A稅單。所以建議大家在年底前償還，確保在簽發稅單時不會出現錯誤。
另外，如果有人還需要更多時間償還這筆錢，需要提前與CRA聯絡。
怎樣償還CERB？
1. 如果通過支票收款，並尚未兌現
需要將原始支票按照下面的地址寄回。需要寫明退還支票的原因（不滿足/多收錢），還有SIN卡號和TTN號碼。
2. 如果是Direct Deposit收款/支票已兌現
方法一：5月11日開始，從CRA官網上進行還款
方法二：寄一張支票給CRA，收款人寫“Receiver General for Canada”，備註中付款性質寫“Repayment of CERB”，標明誤領福利是哪個週期，寫清楚SIN卡號和TTN號碼，寄到指定地址。
